WetlandSnap, and photopoint monitoring more broadly, can contribute to landscape rehabilitation and restoration activities aimed at enhancing and promoting environmental sustainability and stewardship.

For example, at Macquarie University in Sydney, WetlandSnap is part of a campus-wide strategy for the rehabilitation of urban creeks and improvements in their storm water quality. Positive impacts are being achieved for the water and habitat quality of the creeks and the National Park downstream.

The planning and rehabilitation process for Mars Creek brought together engineering and environment experts to re-shape the creek and create a flood mitigation system nested within the surrounding habitat zone. Some 26,000 new natives were planted, creating habitats to support wildlife including native birds, reptiles and frogs. Access a photo gallery here.
